Greater Manchester Fire

Greater Manchester Combined Authority / Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service EDI Team leads the EDI Strategy, supporting senior leads, managers, workforce, and volunteers shape a culture of excellence to better serve the rich diverse communities across GM. Establishing and supporting successful networks. Rainbow (LGBTQIA+), Race and Faith, Women in Fire Service GM, Enable Network, Armed Forces and EDI Active Allies. All play a pivotal role in shaping policy e.g. Support for Fasting, Menopause, Domestic Abuse, Trans and non-binary support, and bullying and harassment in the workplace. These are readily available to the wider workforce. Moreover, they have introduced Inclusive Culture training for firefighters, leading to increased awareness and conversations about inclusion, with over 1,000 staff trained since August 2022. The team has set the foundation for inclusivity and continues to inspire, support, and guide all levels across the organisation.
