Jo Williams is the Chief Executive of The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) in Birmingham. Jo has managed to transform ROH by building an incredible culture, which prioritises wellbeing and inclusion, while delivering tremendous value. She has done this by putting people first, which is the cornerstone of her management philosophy and leadership style and the reason she has achieved so much. The latest ROH staff survey results show comparatively higher rates of morale, job satisfaction and engagement. Jo has helped facilitate the creation of an all-encompassing wellbeing programme, which includes flexible working arrangements, access to financial support, purpose-built Wellbeing spaces and multiple initiatives to support the cost of living. The result of this wellbeing programme has improved engagement rates, morale, and a culture where the team feel included, valued and cared for, which in turn means colleagues can provide the best service to their patients.
