Liz Douglas is the Group Head of People & Organisations for Group Functions at Anglo American, responsible for the end-to-end people strategy for functions. In the last 5 years, Liz has established a DEI team, vision, and strategy, leading senior leaders on a journey towards full equity commitment. Initiating a global DEI steering group Liz has supported the alignments of worldwide goals and has created 24 global Employee Resource Group, including 5 in the UK. She launched an Apprenticeship Programme for diverse talent and expanded it to include young people with disabilities in South Africa. Moreover, Liz has pioneered industry-leading Domestic Violence initiatives. Her campaign for a more equitable and workplace has resulted in improved and increased workplace perceptions with 84% of employees stating they are treated with respect regardless of their background.
