Diversity Team of the Year Award
The Ministry of Justice’s Wellbeing Team has been pivotal in crafting a robust wellbeing strategy for over 90,000 employees. They prioritize a person-centred approach, recognising the unique needs of each individual. Consisting of just two people and having no budget, their achievements include collaborating with 12 prisons to instill a rehabilitation-focused culture, introducing an internal wellbeing consultancy for Board members, and recruiting 2600 mental health allies who break down stigma. The designed a ‘Wellbeing Roadshow’ that to date has been delivered to over 2,000 colleagues, created the ‘Contact for Kindness’ scheme connecting over 500 members around shared interests, and launched ‘Contact for Christmas’ for those feeling isolated during the holiday. In order to facilitate wellbeing conversations amongst line managers, they designed a comprehensive toolkit, shifting the responsibility to a collective effort.
