Principality Building Society’s Pride Network has been on quite a journey since it was founded just over 6 years ago. Initially called the LGBTQ+ and Friends network a small group of colleagues decided it was time to come together as members and allies of the community to offer a safe space and support to all colleagues. The group was set up by just 2 colleagues, gradually growing over the years to over 114 colleagues. With its growing membership the Pride Network spent some time last year reevaluating its purpose and that is to be a beacon for LGBTQ+ communities; celebrating diversity & inclusion, raising awareness, understanding and providing support. Their new strategy focusses on key projects over the next 2 years which include; LGBTQ+ Terminology Awareness, Supporting LGBTQ+ Customers & Colleagues, measuring effectiveness, and Influencing; Welsh Policy and PBS Strategies.
